Swelling of your feet is just disturbing, all of us have experienced from this for one or another cause like retention of salt, pregnancy, long plane ride etc. Swelling also comes with injury.
There are various home remedies to treat swelling apart from immediately raising your feet above your heart and applying cold gel packs.
Cabbage leaves act as a diuretic and has strong anti-inflammatory compounds. Its juice is rich in lactic acid, which when applied to the skin is very useful to reduce swelling and pain.
The simplest remedy for inflated and painful breasts is the application of raw cabbage leaves. To do this, pick a couple of cabbage leaves and place it over the affected breast, with the help of the bra hold the leaf next to the affected area and leave it for few hours. You will notice relief in some time.
The leaf of the cabbage is a successful treatment for the pains and swellings caused by sports injuries and strains. All you have to do is apply ice and raise the injured limb to curtail initial swelling. Next apply the cabbage leaf ice pack twice or thrice daily till the pain and swelling decreases. You can hold it in place with a cloth bandage.
Arthritis victims may reduce the amount of medication with the use of a cabbage leaf dressing. The cabbage leaf helps reduce waste products from the body.
Use leaves as a wrapping on skin conditions such as psoriasis, burns, and ulcers. All need to do is smooth the layers of cabbage leaves using a rolling pin. Next, wrap the leaves on the affected areas of skin till the leaves turn yellow. Repeat this with new leaves till the wound is completely healed.
Points to keep in mind while applying the cabbage leaf dressing:
Use clean leaves that are organically grown if possible. Peel off the outer layers of cabbage and eliminate the hard stem. Bruise them a little with a rolling pin. Use a cotton cloth to clamp the leaves in place. Have the cabbage wrap on the area for two to four hours. You can repeat the process with new leaves.
