These Food Items Can Cause Headache – Stop Eating Them Frequently


Do you usually experience from a headache? Do you normally find yourself stick your head between your hands, trying to ease the pain? Well, guess what?

1. Cheese

Tyramine is a substance found naturally in some foods. It is formed from the breakdown of protein as foods age. The longer a high-protein food ages, the greater the tyramine content. Different varieties of cheese have different levels of tyramine, and depending on the level of the same, one can determine if the cheese is the cause of his headache!

2. Cold food

If you have been working out or you were outside on a hot day it is very likely to get a headache by consuming cold food. You probably have experienced that clenching pain in the head that cold food causes, and so it's best to stay away from cold food - especially the extremely cold ones!

3. Alcohol

Whenever you drink alcohol the blood that flows in your brain increases. No wonder alcohol is a headache trigger!

4.  Chocolate

Cocoa can protect the nerve cells that cause migraine headaches, but almost one-third of the headaches can be caused by chocolate which is identified as a headache trigger. It has been seen that people have a large appetite just before their migraines, and at such times, people tend to intake sweet foods. Avoid that, and you probably might be able to avoid a migraine altogether!

5. Sulfates

Sulfates are preservatives that can be found in most dried fruits and many processed foods. Also, these popular preservatives are known to cause headaches, so better watch out for them!

6. Tannins

From tea to red wine, they all contain tannins. This compound is most notable for giving the foods

that contain them their astringent taste. Also, it is known to be a trigger for certain individuals.

7.  Nitrites

Fast food such as hot dogs, deli meats, or pepperoni – all contain nitrites, which is another common trigger for migraines. Nitrites are used mostly as a preservative and are added to give the food better flavor as well to keep the food last longer. No matter why the nitrite is present, if it's present, then you're likely to get a good ache in the head!

8. Additives

Additives are also known to cause headaches. Check labels carefully and avoid foods that contain monosodium glutamate (MSG), yeast extract, hydrolyzed or autolyzed yeast, hydrolyzed vegetable protein (HVP), hydrolyzed plant protein (HPP) and sodium caseinate, if you wish to avoid a migraine.
9. Fruits and vegetables

Shocking, right? Of course, fruits and vegetables are healthy stuff, but if you're a victim of frequent migraines, you should probably check out the fruits and veggies you eat! Fruit triggers include raisins, papayas, plums, bananas, avocados, and figs. Bananas and avocados can be especially problematic for those with migraines. When comes to vegetable triggers, be careful with string beans, snow peas, onions, and raw garlic. A number of beans have also been identified as possible triggers, including lima, navy, garbanzo, pinto, and pole beans.

10. Bread

Sourdough bread, freshly baked yeast bread, and coffee cake may be terrible for your migraine. Also, even pizza can be pretty problematic – any type of crackers or bread containing cheese may trigger migraines, including pizza. So now you probably know what all to avoid, right?
