Remove Acne Marks and Other Skin Scars With These Simple and Effective Home Remedies!

What is Acne?

Acne is a skin condition that can cause spots and pimples in a person's back, face, chest, shoulders, neck, upper arms, and chest. It is one of the most common skin condition throughout the world. It normally occurs to both genders, and starts at the puberty stage of a person. Well technically if a person's sebaceous glands activates, acne can already start at whenever age it activates.

Acne is an inflammatory, and chronic skin disease that can result to whiteheads, blackheads, pimples, cysts, and nodules. The human skin has pores that has a connection to the oil glands under the skin, and that makes the follicles to be connected to the glands and to the pores.

Sebaceous Gland - a small gland in the skin that secretes oily matter (which is called sebum) into the hair follicles in the skin that lubricates the hair and the skin.

Sebum - the oily secretion of the sebaceous gland, it carries dead skin cells through the follicles and to the surface of the skin.

Let's say the estimated age for a person to have an acne is within the range of 11 years of age to 30 years old. Acne can affect 3 in every 4 person. It is not dangerous, however acne can leave skin scars, and sometimes the treatment depends on how severe or persistent your acne is.

There area few risk factors when it comes to acne, by risk factors meaning the likelihood of developing acne, and these are:

  • Genetics (Family)
  • Menstrual Cycle (Menstruation)
  • Anxiety
  • Emotional Stress
  • Hormonal Changes
  • Hot and Humid climates
  • Oil-based Makeup Usage
  • Squeezing of Pimples
  • Medications that Contains Androgen and Lithium

Androgen - male hormones, it can also be found in women in small amounts that gets changed into estrogen.
Estrogen - female hormone.
Lithium - it is used to treat bipolar disorder.

When pimples grow, the follicles will get blocked and the oil will build up under the skin. The skin cells, hair, and sebum can clump in together into a plug, and once a plug gets infected with bacteria, it will result into swelling. Then a pimple will start to get developed and makes the plug to break down.

There are also types of acne that varies through size, color, and even the level of pain. These are:

  • Whiteheads - these are acne that is color white and are small. They remain to be under the skin which makes them a bit unseen unless it get touched or scratched.
  • Blackheads - these are acne that is color black. They tend to be visible and appears on the surface of the skin.
  • Papules - these acne are usually small and pink bumps. They are also visible on the surface of the skin like the blackheads.
  • Pustules - these acne are red at their base and has a pus at the top. It is also visible in the skin.
  • Nobules - these acne are large, solid, and painful to touch. These are normally embedded deep within the skin and are visible in the surface of the skin.
  • Cysts - these acne are painful and filled with pus, but this time it can cause scars and marks in your skin, unlike the nobules.
