If You See This Growing in Your Yard, Do Not Pick It Up! Here Is the Reason Why…

Purslane is a commonly seen plant because it grows almost anywhere. Usually, without knowing about its benefits, people pull it out from the ground and throw it. However, a lot of people do not know that purslane is both a weed and an edible plant. What’s more, in a lot of cultures, purslane is consumed as a food due to its pleasant taste and numerous health benefits.

The benefits of purslane

–GMO free
-rich in important vitamins and antioxidants
-rich in omega-3 fatty acids and protects from strokes and heart disease
-reduces the risk of ADHD in children, as well as autism, and other developmental disorders

-it’s rich in vitamin A so it protects from cancer
-It’s rich in iron and calcium
-it has 6 times more vitamin E than spinach and 7 times more beta carotene than carrots
-it has an abundance of fiber and a low-calorie count
-it contains vitamin C, magnesium, riboflavin, potassium, and phosphorus

Purslane has a pleasant lemony taste and a crunchy texture. It makes a great replacement for spinach. Its seeds are so potent that the plant can live up to 25 years.

Important to note:

People who have oxalate urinary tract stones shouldn’t consume purslane since it has oxalic acid which may crystallize as oxalate stones in the urinary tract.
