On September 14th at around 5:50pm, a Chinese student majoring in architecture became trapped in an elevator at Huaqiao University in Xiamen.
As the was entering the elevator, it didn’t hold and still continue to move upwards, trapping him between the elevator and the floor.
The student is then slowly crushed to death before rescuers can free him.
After getting a call about the incident at 5:50pm, security assistance rushed to the scene.
The rescue teams reached at the scene shortly afterwards, and 35 minutes after the conflict took place they managed to open the elevator, but found the student had no vital signs.
At around 8:49pm, his body was moved off campus and his parents arrived at 9pm. The police and supervising authorities are investigating the cause of the incident.
