Vegetables were the healthiest type of foods around the world, but there are vegetables that are healthier to eat when cooked rather than raw.

The argument regarding, which is healthier cooked or raw vegetables has been a question for every one of us over a long period of time. Most vegetarians prefer to eat raw veggies rather than cooked believing that cooking would remove its nutrients.



There are types of vegetables, which are healthier when cooked and there are veggies, which are best to consume raw rather than cooked. Consumption of cooked vegetables breaks tough cell walls and make nutrients easier to absorb.

Spinach

Cooking spinach makes the folate levels constant. When this vegetable is cooked it wilts down and allow you to consume more spinach, which also helps the body to absorb more folate.

Pumpkin

Pumpkin is known as a good source of beta-carotene, which is easier to absorb by our body when heated. So, pumpkin is best to eat cooked rather than raw.

Carrots




Carrots are same as pumpkin, which contains a large amount of beta-carotene, which turns into vitamin A that can boost the immune system, gives good visions, and healthy skin.

Tomatoes

Tomatoes contain lycopene, a powerful antioxidant that can help us to fight free radicals, which causes several types of diseases. This vegetable or fruit is best to be eaten cooked for easier absorption.

Asparagus

This veggie contains vitamins A, C, E, folate, and anti-carcinogenic properties, which helps us to fight cancer. Cooked asparagus breaks down its fibrous cells, so its nutrients can be easily absorbed by the body.
