A Chinese man is lucky to be alive after falling from a cliff in southwest China while dangerously posting on the edge of a cliff for photographs.
Video footage, filmed on March 17 shows him hanging off the cliff to get the perfect photo on the Jigong mountain in Chongqing city.
The free climber said he hiked with a group of friends in Jigong mountain on March 17. Then he was seen standing on his hands on a rock on the cliff to pose for camera
The 29-second clip first shows a man in a green shirt standing on his hands on a rock on the cliff. He then posed for the camera standing on the rock. He then lost grip and tumbled over the cliff. Visitors can be heard screaming as he fell. Moments later, he was seen hanging off the cliff with his bare hands before falling
The Chinese man surnamed Du, said he was hiking with a group of friends in Jigong mountain on that day, according to Chongqing Evening News.
Du has been practicing free climbing for more than four years. He asked his friends to take a photo of him on the mountain top.
The climber explained he lost his footing and slid down for a dozen meters. Luckily he just walked away only with bruises and cuts on arms and hands
The video went viral and was reposted by other Youtube users. Hundreds of online users discussed the incident on social media.
'Will the photo be used at his funeral?' an user noted.
'He risked his life to take a photo. It isn't worth it.' another user wondered.
'I felt relieved knowing that he's alive.' one user commented.
