Jeffery Lytle – from the Monroe City in Snohomish County in the US capital state Washington – is facing assault for renting a hitman to shoot his Filipina wife. Jeffery’s wife of more than six years, Rhoda Mee Funtanilla Lytle, was clueless about her husband’s evil plans. The couple has a four-year-old daughter.
Apparently, Jeffery had planned to get the benefits of Rhoda Mee’s life insurance which are worth $1 million. He contracted a hitman named “Shayne” to kill his wife.
Jeffery sent a text message addressed to the hitman and it read:
“Hey, Shayne! How’s it going? You remember you said that you would help me kill my wife? I’m going to take you on that offer.”
Jeffery has been to the Philippines with his wife.
In the following text messages, Jeffery also informed the hitman that if he needed to earn more money, he could also kill Jeffery and Rhoda Mee’s little daughter. The child also had life insurance worth $500,000.
Here’s the catch: Jeffery had sent all those text messages for the hired killer to someone else. He had mistakenly sent them to his former boss, a man named Robert Alexander.
Naturally, Jeffery’s previous boss was frightened by the text messages. He quickly notify the police so they could secure the safety of Rhoda Mee and her daughter.
Deceiving: Jeffery seemed like a dutiful husband.When Jeffery was in police custody, he claimed that he didn’t mean to send out the text messages. He said he had kept the “murder-for-hire” text messages in his phone’s drafts folder. He speculated that it was actually his four-year-old daughter who might have accidentally sent the messages when she was playing with his phone.

Moreover, Jeffery also said that his wife and daughter actually didn’t have any life insurance. However, his claim was disputed by Rhoda Mee, who stated that she has life insurance. She also revealed that they had some “financial issues.”
Jeffery has been charged with criminal solicitation. He is now detained at the Snohomish County Jail on a $1,000,000 bond.
